Dylan and I took a quick trip to Illinois this past weekend. We left out early Saturday morning and made it home around 1 AM Monday morning. Our big plan was to check out haunted houses but instead we decided to try out some restaurants. Saturday night we visited Fast Eddie's Bon Air in Alton. I didn't get any pictures but they had a live band that was really good so we did a little dancing. We also had 2 big burgers and 2 baskets of fries for under $15! I highly recommend checking it out!
Sunday morning we wanted a good breakfast so we opted for a place called Sgt. Pepper's Café in Edwardsville. The downtown area was really cute and if it hadn't been a Sunday we could have done some shopping. As far as the restaurant goes we did not enjoy ourselves. They were extremely busy and we waited over 40 minutes for cold food. I was told it was not always like this so I will try again. They did keep us full of coffee, the picture shows that I like my creamer with just a splash of coffee.
We headed out around 5 in the afternoon to head home and decided to eat at one more place, Old Harrold Brewery in Collinsville. We tried the Hummus for an appetizer and it was amazing. It came with pita bread, carrots, and celery to dip. I wanted to try something new so I ordered the Mediterranean Veggie Sandwich. It was AMAZING! It had spinach, tomatoes, onions, and their hummus on top of toasted sourdough bread. Dylan has a thing for IPAs so he ordered one on tap and I decided to try a Bloody Mary. It was good but I am normally a fruity cocktail kind of person so it was not for me. What was really cool was the aesthetic of Old Harrold. They had giant newspaper articles blown up on canvases. You could see their brewing station through large glass windows. The food was brought out in baskets with paper that had articles written on them. I would highly recommend trying it out.
These are pictures of some of the food and drinks we enjoyed!
